I've been in the co-op for a few months and am a big fan. I have some google sandboxed sites that have very high rankings in yahoo and msn because of the co-op. My oldest, highest PR and traffic site has been dropped from google. Top 10 rankings now sit in the 700 range. I have non-competitive three word keywords that I cannot rank for. Google indexes and caches my page almost daily. I have operated this site for over 6 years and have almost always ranked well with google. It does not belong to the co-op because it uses a shopping cart that cannot process php files. I did recently put weight from the co-op to the site and saw almost immediate results from yahoo and msn. Since the backlink update a few days ago, I have seen a big drop in traffic. It took a few days for all the data centers to drop me, and now I am no where to be found. Traffic is off over 90%. The below post got me wondering if they might be on to something? My backlinks went from 250 to 850 because of the co-op. I know others who have experienced a similar drop and are NOT a part of the co-op, however, they also saw a big increase in backlinks. Does anyone think a rapid increase in backlinks could be my problem? http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum30/29563.htm
I know it has been a topic of discussion. I know google is google, but this is the first time in six years when I can't get ANY type of ranking for any keyword. I am just wondering if people who have experienced this also saw a large increase in google backlinks because I haven't made a single change to the site.
Its because google notices links coming and disapearing. I have a website with only co op and it goes wild for easy keywords.
Well I only use the coop to compliment my other marketing and advertising means. There needs to be a backbone besides the wide area advertising.
