if i answer this general question then the cause is you must have did something wrong.

 

You should check your backlinks, you probably lost some high quality backlinks so you
lost your rankings in the serps.

 

sometime it's the hosting issues. if the site down when the bot trying to access it will show as blank page and search engines may thought that site was not there anymore.

 

This happens periodically for me. One month my site am high on page ranks, next month Its like google died or something

 

are you constantly adding more backlinks through forums or articles?

Sadly that was the case with me. I lost most of my SERP. It's day 10 now no improvements at all.

Yep, I had front page links on wrevenue.com johnchow.com seomoney.com and a few other high pr blogs. I lost these links after a while

 

may be your backlinks drop, or someone copy your site.
