I have a drop down menu on my website as was wondering how many 'drop downs' are enough?

One is enough. I hate when my mouse goes somewhere else and the whole menu disappears and I have to start again.

The drop down menu you can use many there are no limitation to use in website. Using drop down its mostly depends on website element and content. If your content or element require dropdown then we can use lot of but if its require only one drop down so, you can use single one. Almost there is no limitation but the website should be user friendly and drop down should be easy to read or access the your website information that is most important.

its depends on categories you offers to show. each category may have its own level of dropdown.
