They are comin' to get ya, Briant! Black helicopters keeping tabs on you. OOOOO! I'd be more concerned about a carbon tax than this, which seems to be a replacement to the gas tax. This would never be implemented. Too easy to thwart. Put some thought behind it. An interesting school experiment is your limit here.
Yes its not new, but as I said, its too easy to thwart. Jamming or disabling the signal would be easy (how long did it take an iphone to get cracked) - what will the system do, if its not sure how many miles were traveled lately? Not let you buy gas? I think its kinda funny the extreme lengths they go through to get their tax money from us, when very simple changes to the tax code would mean more revenue that they could use. Anyways. I also like the punishment factor for the fuel-efficient vehicles. Thought you'd be saving money at the pump (less gallons) - gotcha sucka! I think, in some sense, this would be a fine idea. Right? Imagine getting rid of the state taxes (say gas prices go down by 30 cents). Then you see the lower price, then the tacked on gas price; you finally get to see the direct impact of the insane taxes that governments are imposing on you. Instead of being hidden in the price, it gets tacked on after the fact. What better way to show how pitiful the system is than having your bill go from $20 to $30 in a second. Hehe.
