Cannot really answer the question about revenue. However, there is no harm in adding adsense code as soon as possible and to start measuring. Also, might be worthwhile checking out clickbank. They have a similar script to adsense, but which promotes their products they find relevant to your site content. Payouts are much bigger than the "adcents", but then again, you only get paid on a sale, where google pays out per click. Both will only work if you have decent amounts of traffic, though. Maybe add both and see which brings you most revenue.
