drive traffic through SMO..

Hi friends,
Can you please suggest me all the possible and effective ways to drive traffic from social media optimisation like forums, social bookmarking sites..etc
and also something related to video postings.. where i can post the videos so that i can get increased traffic.

So I am a member in forums pertaining to my site. What I find difficult is how to actually get people to your site on a consistent basis. Sometimes the topics in the forums are topics that I can respond to that lead directly to my site but that is very rare. Also asking people for a review of a certain product gets hits on the site but thats not something you can do everyday. If anyone has any consistent tactics that would be great! Also how do you keep bookmarking consistent. Some days I get no hits and other 91.
