Drive In movie sites continue to be closed with few new ones opening.

Have you been to a drive in theater and what do you think of them?!

Never have been to a drive in theater because there is none in my country but based on what I see in movies it would be pretty awesome to go to with a date.

it's gonna be too cold to drive in and watch movie from your car. it could be too crowded as well and smelly too. Normal cinema would be better

You are in your car and most now play over your radio, only smelly if you forget to shower.:p

I love the Drive-In and you are starting to see more open back up. We have three in our area and they are always busy. Takes me back to my teen years when it was a great place to make a move on your date, now I am married I just watch the movie. ;)

I have been to many drive-in movies, odd thing is I never seen a single movie. If you want to experience the actual movie I recommend not to bring a date;)

    Yes I love 'em!

A friend of mine's family use to own one when we were teenagers (in the 90s). Free movies, free "food", we used to run amok.
I can imagine a few guys were just about to 'make their move'... then a bunch of rowdy teenager would start bouncing his car :)

I think I went to one when I was very little but I can't remember :p

I like the concept, makes movies more interesting to watch! Though.. it's really old school :p still fun though!!

They are opening more and more in my area. Food quality has gotten better since my teen years..and some are offering wine and healthier diets. Plus, playgrounds for the kids and picnic areas too.

I went to one once (on a date). When the movie started, it wasn't quite dark enough to see it very well... Then once it got darker, it was hard to follow the movie (since we couldn't see the begining)... So we gave up on watching the movie... ;)

There is actually a "Drive In" theater that I used to go to as a kid about 10-15 minutes from my house. Some of my first memories of the cinematic experience was at this very place, along with all the fun of the adventure that goes along with it.

It actually still stands today and is used as a local swap meet on the weekend mornings. You bringing this up seems to have a bit of a nostalgic feeling when you start thinking about it. I will have to see if my Wife wants to take our 4 year old Son soon to re-start the process of memories again to a new generation. You never know when they will close down. It seems they are all few and far between in our age of new technology.

I bet you read a book right? ;)

Kids love Drive Ins, my niece and nephews 4,6,9 go all the time and it is fun and when they get too tired, they can just lay down on the seat and go to sleep. With the price of normal movie tickets, it is also very economical because you can normally get in for about $5 a person and see two good movies.
