Drigg is just stupid, really. It's an addon through Drupal which has a screwy URL system and it's really not the core component of it. Pligg, however, is entirely built to support a copy of Digg or Reddit, so I have to recommend Pligg 100%. You'll be able to customize the template a lot more, and customizations will be a lot easier too.

There is lots of discussions about this on the internet and forums, a friend of mine is using Pligg, but he found himself with out support after some time because Pligg was belt with lots of bugs, and you will find good modules but you have to pay for them, so it's not 100% free!

Drigg is based on a very solid CMS which is Drupal which gives you tones of options that is not available with Pligg, the main problem with Drigg is no body is supporting this module for one year now!

Personally I have used both of them a few months back, and recently I decided to have a website running, so I went back to both applications to see what's new, I found my self going for Drigg because the ability to use Drupal power! you realy can do anything you want with Drupal if you understand it, most of people run a way from it because it's kind of confusing at the beginning and I was one of those people, but not anymore!

There is lots of websites using Drigg and they are awesome, most of them running Drupal 5, but mine is using Drupal 6, you can check my website here:
    http://www.mmosocialnetwork.com

I have voting button and widget as well, you can view it here:
    http://www.famousbloggers.net

it's up to you now to choose the best platform!

Drigg is far more safer and stable than pligg,
but the only problems that it's not fully developed
    and lacks community support.

Let me vouch on this!! Plgg is still the same and spam is even worse than ever!

You will be forced in time to remove the cms from your site. Save the time now and use drigg or something else!

    how about ease of use?

    is drigg easy to use?

I guess pligg is pretty simple, else it wouldn't be so popular.

Actually Drigg is easy to use, hard a little bit to setup at the beginning and customize it the way you want! but after that it's easy to deal with it!

pligg is more popular because it's support, that's all.. Drigg project is coming back to be active when we find a few people who would like to cooperate for continue developing it, probably you will hear good news soon!

Try Hotaru CMS. It's quite new, but has active support, is loaded with anti-spam features, has over 50 plugins already, has good documentation, uses PHP templates, and is very flexible and easily extended. If you're looking for an out-of-the box solution, Pligg is easier, but if you like to hack themes and plugins, go with Hotaru because it's really easy to make your own or edit existing ones. Oh, and you don't have to worry about losing all your customizations when you upgrade, either.

I know this is an old thread but I hope by posting in it it might have somebody reply.

I was wondering if anyone has any more info on drigg now that it's a little older.

Has it had any more development? Is there any install guides anywhere?

Furthermore, I agree with others that pligg is much better than drigg because it is very easy to use as well as lots of template & features are available in it.
