When adding a "site" in dreamweaver. Is there anyway to make it not download and store all the site files to the local drive?

I want to be just able to edit the file directly on the server rather than downloading everything.

    Thanks

    go to the remote view
right click the file you want
    hit "get"
then edit that file and hit "put"

that will download the one file, maybe it dependant files (depending on your settings) and its folder cascade. I never dl the whole site unless I have to

As far as working directly on the ftp I am not sure how to do that.... or if its possible
