Dreamweaver or Photoshop for templates?

If you had skills in both of these programs which would you use to make a website? (just the designing template side + overall easiness of making a website)

    Thanks, Ben.

These are two different softwares used for different puposes, like for designing a site Photoshop is used and for coding a site Dreamweaver is used.

Oh man, you slay me. TELL me that was a joke. That's like saying knowing how to use a can of WD-40 makes you a auto mechanic.

But then, while I can work from a .psd and know how to use dreamweaver, I'm most comfortable doing my layouts and design in Win32pad or Edit+

With a knowledge of both, I choose to use neither... it just slows me down.

lol well I think people who still use wordpad to code are just stubborn in thinking their superior as their doing it 'all by themselves'

I'm a fluent CSS / HTML coder and I use Dreamweaver to code, it's much easier and organised.

I used to make and slice Photoshop templates but their slow loading, HTML / CSS / PHP is the way. I just use photoshop for designing graphics, headers etc.

Since you can create XHTML sites out of photoshop CS, I would stick to that.. however they both specialize in different areas of web development , photoshop for the designing aspect and dreamweaver for coding.

I prefer photoshop. You can do many things that you can'n make with dreamwaver - and here i mean the editing of the images
    Dreamweaver is for coding

As stated, Photoshop is used for concept/ overall layout.

Dreamweaver or other is used for creating the xHTML/ CSS template itself.

i would double on unique's comment, both different software, and you really need both to make a template unless you use fireworks instead of ps..
