Dreamweaver CS4 , it makes every thing hard that could be so simple user friendly for those that arn't code experienced? I mean I do no a little bit of coding tiny bit. As someone thats come from yahoo sitebuilder to dreamweaver its been unbarable yahoo site builder i insert image link to this lik to that, if i want a new line i press enter, if i want an extra line i press enter again. dreamweavers take on this you start typing press enter it doesn't go to next line - you have to go to special character - html insert line break just to type on next line? you can insert an image then poin to links , html pages. But not a flash image , I understand its powerful and i really want to get better at it, but why would the develpers do this. Why not make it both ways, great for coders and easy for newbies without coding? I find it just silly you can't insert a flash anim and link or the line break thing for a new line lol? I will continue to push on and learn the program wont give up but, to me why can't they make the program work both ways. Is it to hard to make it simple for those without code knowledge , but still power of the coding for those you coding experts.? app divs took me forever to different resolutions app divs everwhere omg . but i figured that one out now onto the next mission flash anim to link to a simple think like a website or a page. every venture seems like a mission with this program.
I've only used the code editor of Dreamweaver -- never the visual editor. This is of course since I'm an experienced developer and I don't need the visual editor aspect.. I just prefer to code it myself. I'd consider going to Borders or another bookstore by your home and purchasing a book on Dreamweaver. They do exist, and I imagine they'd be very helpful. If it's not in your budget right now, consider going to the library and see if they have something for Dreamweaver there. It is a popular program, so I imagine that there is a decent amount of content related to it's functionality. There are numerous tutorials online as well, but I can only really vouch for Lynda.com or nettuts.com. Lynda.com carries a monthly fee, and nettuts.com allows you to view some tutorials without paying, but not the 'premium content'. Best of luck!
Are you sure that you have set up your site correctly in Dreamweaver? Most of the time it is a very simple drop and drag procedure. If you can send me a screen shot of what you are trying to do I can assist you more. Thanks and good luck!!
I insert an ap div, then i insert flash anim into the app div, the flash anim is there thats fin but if you click on it in properties ther is no link to option? even forget about the app div if you have a page then insert a flash anim its properties show link to option?
YasirYar is correct. You can find what you need online or through reading but if you have your settings correct in dreamweaver you should be able to drop and drag the swf onto your page. if you send me some screenshots i would be more than willin to assist.thnkss
Hi yes i can install the flash anim into my page, but I can't link it to anything, I have posted a screen shot here of what I mean. You know when you insert an image you have a link option - there is no option I can see for flash anims? As you can see I've put in red no link option? cheers Mark
I was talking to one person and they said can only be done in flash ? I have macromedia 5 but never really used it. Surely there is an easy way to just link a flash anim to a page? Thanks for your answers so far, I really need to know how to do this if to improve my site as atm i'm using gif anims lol. would like to change to flash anims
