Hello, Could you guys there tell me is DreamWeaver a tool for creating webdesigns [import from PS] for totally coding beginners? Another question I have is why can't I just learn coding, i mean I have tried it I have a tuts+ membership and nothing learned from it just some basic <html> I try so hard to learn but I get bored really fast because It doesent tell me what I need to know. So could dreamweaver be for me a tool for creating complete HTML5/CSS3 websites? and then maybe learning coding I am sorry for my english
Dreamweaver could be, but so could many other tools too. If you aren't learning what you need to know, then you are wasting time. If you are looking for specific HTML tags, just Google them and read about them from the HTML specifications. Be sure to read about correct page markup though, so you know where, why and how to use tags correctly.
1) DW isn't a tool for anyone. Don't get used to it if you're serious about web development. 2) PS isn't the way to design websites. A lot of what you can design in PS can't be translated into real websites. 3) Learning HTML isn't the process of finding the thing you need at the moment - or the process of being entertained. Start a tuts tutorial on HTML and finish it, whether you're bored or not. Then start a tutorial on programming (not a programming language, programming itself - Algorithms and Data Structures is a good start).
Dreamweaver is a best software to write the code. So, learning HTML, coding and other programming language is another things. So, you will find lot of software for coding via google.
Dreamweaver isn't going to teach you programming languages. You have to motivate yourself to learn html, css and any other programming languages you wish to learn to design and develop websites and remain dedicated to learning programming if you truly wish to learn. htmldog.com is a good reference site for learning the basics and advance html and css tags. You can also find any great reference books covering Javascript and PHP on Amazon.
I personally use Aptana Studio 3, I switched from Dreamweaver a few months ago, and it was the best thing I ever did. It has a lot of great features that help you save time when coding, and maybe it won't get you bored that fast. And a little suggestion: I recommend this tutorial if you want to get into web development
Any software is going to be a matter of personal preference. I know some guys who swear by Dreamweaver. Personally, I prefer Notepad++. Relying too heavily on a program when you're just learning HTML is a bad practice. Also, as far as learning from tutorials, such as those on Tuts+, that can be a great learning method. The method I used when I was just starting out, was to go to websites that had features I liked, and viewing their source. Then, I would save them into files locally and start to slowly remove the features I didn't need to get down to what actually made it do that feature. It's a great way to learn a lot if you are more of a "just dive in" type of learner.
