    Hello,

I am using Dreamweaver CS6 and for some reason whenever I open a HTML file it inserts some weird symbols within the contextual content (wording) of the HTML document I opened. My guess is it may have something to do with the encoding type of the document. Is there anyway to reset Dreamweaver CS6 back to default?

    Any help would be great.

Best piece of advise anybody could give you is to bin Dreamweaver it's the biggest pile of rubbish out there and will slow you down drastically. Learn HTML properly it will be far more beneficial for you long-term.

In terms of your question though, file, page properties and there's an encoding option there.
