Well not sure if there is way around this cuz this what was found on official Adobe site.

Why don't Adobe Creative Suite 3 applications support the Starter and Home Basic editions of Windows Vista?
The Starter and Home Basic editions of Windows Vista are entry-level operating systems for the casual user. They do not offer the level of support that Adobe's professional creative products require. However, some Adobe products designed for the more casual user, such as Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0, do run on Windows Vista Starter and Home Basic editions.

i am not sure if this will help though, have a look anyway : http://blogs.msdn.com/rickbrew/arch...talling-adobe-photoshop-cs3-on-vista-x64.aspx

Thats weird, thats the first time I have hearing CS3 DW giving issues with Vista. Did you upgrade to the recent version or DW?

after hearing all of the horrors about vista i was reluctant to buy it...only because i stumbled upon a serious sale did i actually get a vista computer---so far, i've had NO problems whatsoever...however, i am using vista premium with service pack 1 and an older version of dreamweaver, mx 2004---i must say though that i haven't had any problems running this older version of dreamweaver or with running FLash cs3

It runs perfect with vista ultimate here. Did you try running the installer with administrative rights? If yes, did you try by doing right click then "Run as Administrator"?

I think that should fix your problem.

I know what the problem is I had the same sort of problems installing other software its the user atentication system you need to turn it off while you install programmes that give off the error your getting you will find the option in your cp settings. also try turning off the fire wall while you install it.

I have Vista ultimate with Dreamweaver CS3 and works GREAT.

Try and e-mail Adobe for advice as they make the application and deal with problems

Right Click on the install on disk, and set as run as administrator. As i have done that once before with Flash CS3
