Anyone experiencing high CPU usage when using Dreamweaver CS3?

    Any solutions/fixes?

Searching forum, google and newsgroups high and low - nothing

Computer is sounding like an airplane ready to take off when using this application ...

maybe it's time to start looking for alternatives

Probably Adobe's fault...they always make memory hog programs...was it better in DW 8 on your computer?

What version of dreamweaver are you using?
Minimum system requirements for CS3 are 512MB

    http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver/systemreqs/

I'm still searching on this, but nothing yet.
Reading some posts in NG and they indicate that MACs are also affected :(

Do you have Windows Defender installed?

It is known that that can send CPU usage through the roof if it is running in the background at the same time as Adobe products.

I have the same problem, which affects me when I need to use Dreamweaver, although the machine remains usable.

When I don't need to use it (and want to keep it open, just without the CPU hog) I use the free Process Explorer from www.sysinternals.com, right-click dreamweaver.exe, suspend.

    Works for me.

I have the same problem on my laptop. I turned off Windows Defender and it seemed to go a bit faster.

My suggestion is a better computer. That or simply downgrade to a simpler program like editplus.
