I've been using DW MX for as long as I can remember and it produces code that is no worse than if you were to hand code it. It may ocasionally place some sort of a script up at the top to resize windows in netscape or something like that, but it is easily removable. If you code in DW and use CSS than you can view your CSS changes as you code! It is just so much more easeir to work with than anything I've ever seen before.

Another really cool DW 8 feature is file check out.

I work with a couple of other designers, and we can all be working on the same site at the same time. However, as long as file checkout is enabled, it will only allow one person to be editing the same file at the same time. This prevents anyone from messing up something that someone else is working on.

    Hey guys.

I've just got started on DW8 yesterday from Frontpage. I am looking at CSS first because it looks the most useful. After I've got the basics of CSS which feature do you think I should look at next?

Also how long do you think it will take for me to make the transition from frontpage to DW?

    Thanks guys
    J

Also I can see already how using css creates your coding a lot cleaner. Is it going to be possible for me to move a site ive created in frontpage to DW and clean it up nicely????

    Thanks for your help

Isn't it $300 or so? That's a lot of coin.

Not that I am aware of. Studio 8 comes with Macromedia Contribute. You can do it with Contribute, but I dont think so with DW

tpn87 has already said that this is the case on this thread.

Has the design view for css improved any? MX doesn't quite pull it off properly yet

I just did some searching and and found out about permissions. YES, you can set permissions with it. LOL All this time of using it, and I was not aware. Just right click on the file and select "Set Permissions". It does warn you that it may not work on some servers.

A small bug with my DW8...

In Design view: When I press the End key and reach the end of the line, pressing the Home key does nothing... I have to press the left arrow key and then press the Home key to reach the start of the line.

I really love the background FTP.
