Fireworks made the cut and a new version is coming out soon. Not a lot on the new feature set other than better flash video integration which they seem to be pushing a lot lately, but I've never had much problem with publishing videos. Stinks that I just plunked down money on mx2k4, but I'm sure I'll get a free upgrade.
Flash 8 is going under some major changes to try and use it as a more viable form of video distribution. The next version of Adobe Premier should be interesting after the macromedia aquisition - I imagine we'll see "Export movie as Flash"... Look out Real, QT and WinMedia - Flash is on the horizon as a more powerful video format...
After Effects has the "Export as Flash" option already. I imagine it will get a little better, but I think you're right - premier will have that option soon enough. I think flash will win over a lot of people with more acceptance as a video format - and with the ability to add annotations + custom animations it will be even better. Now if only there weren't so many annoying flash sites out there...
Don't fret nevetS, I'm still on MX also. I had thought that there was some talk of Fireworks not being offered after the merger so I'm glad thats not the case. I may actually update on this version.
I just blogged about what I read on the macromedia site about this new version. Seems like flash and not scripting is the focus of this release, so I will be staying with the trusty MX
luckily I'm in good shape. Their cutoff dates are quick. I remember buying ultradev maybe a week outside their 30 day free upgrade period and I was bent out of shape.
