I built my first site with NVU, i liked it because it was simple but have gotten many suggestions to use dreamweaver instead, I dug out my old dreamweaver disk that i never had time to learn before- installed it and upgraded to 8.02, But now i have the chance to obtain Dreamweaver CS3 from a buddy for a good deal. I havent started learning either one yet so basically i need to know if I would be better learning and using 8.02 or CS3

Dreamweaver CS 3 is just the new version of Dreamweaver as Adobe bought out Macromedia, just use DW CS3 as it has a load of new features

Could anyone point me to the trial version of CS3? I am considering to buy it ($399 isn't too much for such software) but I would really love to try it first...

IMO, you should buy CS3 right away. It is better to buy it now than to upgrade later from 8.02 to it. v8 has been around for some 2 years and CS3 should last for at least 2 years... And the price is the same...

in my opinion you would be better off just using a simple text-editor like PSpad

There isn't a open beta at the moment. I have a copy though, it's a lot lot better, the spry framework is pretty handy. Use google to look for a copy.

I have never used either version, I am still using DW4 I think - lol

But I am a big DW fan, and either one you get will be useful!

DreamWeaver 8 is pretty good. Either way you should learn how to code by hand. Just in case your not able to reach your DW.

CS3 has pretty much the same interface. However it has way more ajax options (spry).
