For the second time in the week all my sites are down

And I do not check all the time!

    Server is "cheezit"

And I look another big site not belonging to me and it is down too

How can we run our business with such a hoster?

I do have many many sites to move if I want my business not to fall because of Dreamhost

Adwords campaigns were running for hours with all the sites down

    THANK YOU DREAMHOST

What the f***k are doing the people of Dreamhost????

If they are that bad then complain and move to a different webhost :)

Are they really so bad? I was considering buying hosting from them soon. What is their best (well known company) alternative then (except HostGator)?

Yeah, they say they've been operating for 10 years.

Yep, they say that in the main page. I have just bought DreamHost hosting and paid for 1 year using a coupon, so I paid only ~$60 instead of ~$120. I have not yet received the email with the FTP details though, I only received login for the DH panel at https://panel.dreamhost.com, but I don't see a file manager in there. How can I upload files to my newly created site (using a Free Domain registration DreamHost provides)? When I check the whois, the domain appears still available. How long will it take them to activate my account?

I've hosted with Dreamhost for one of my site for about two years now and if your site is big and uses a lot of resources, it's great value for money.
I've experienced good with them, especially their customer support and broad range of features. To date, I've not experienced much downtime and major issues, however I am considering changing hosts because I've found others with a more competitive pricing and my site doesn't use nearly as much as I'm given on neither hosts.

Is this a regular thing for you?

Dreamhost is a very very bad host.

If your database exceeds 20,000 records expect to be closed down. Their servers simply suck, for example

I have a 20,000 links directory, the most used script, which works fine on every host on this planet but ...

today it got disabled cause the regular search tooked to long ! Tested it and on their server took 4 seconds, reduced it to 0.5 seconds.

I strongly recommend to avoid this host company, they are extremly extremly bad.

Regular directory with 20,000 links cause dreamhost to :

"Please move these databases running phpmydirectory to more powerful
    hosting."

LOL. Do yourself a good and avoid this host, it's one of the crapiest hosts on the internet.

Try Servage.net, I used to run servage and dreamhost at the same time + servage was always faster (including the admin panel which always bothered me at DH) + I had 100% uptime. The only reason I moved from them is I needed a dedicated host when my traffic got big.

I would never use DreamHost for business critical sites..DreamHost is recommended for personal sites only.
