They sem to offer a lot of value, but I've heard mixed comments about them. Anyone here have a reseller account with any news lately about customer service, downtime etc.?

I never used them, but I bet you'll get a range of opinions, just like everything else different people have different opinions of things.

True, but there's usually a consensus with a few differing opinions.

They offer a lot for the money. IMO they would be fine for static sites.

Their homemade control panel makes it very easy to add additional domains. Setting up databases is a little confusing but something one could learn to live with.

They have some serious issues when it comes to running a lot of PHP scripts because they force everything to run as CGI. Also several of the popular php modules are not installed on their system.

I managed a workaround for one or two of the issues before I got tired of being forced to do so and signed up for an account elsewhere. I never managed to get RSS feeds to work.

    Any questions just post here.

Well, i have just bought an acc at dreamhost yesterday. The setup was really fast, took like 1 hour, and everything was working (domain inclusive).

So i would recommend them :), but well i dont have that much experience with them yet.

Mike Davidson, CEO of Newsvine gives some info you may find useful
    here.
This is a guy who made $30,000 from referring people to Dreamhost and
even he was thinking of abandoning them.

I've been using dreamhost to host about 8 smaller sites for 18 months now. Their control panel isn't the best, but for the money I don't think you can beat it. Hardly any downtime, and they have been reasonable with discussing certain sites I host that take up too many resources (a luxury other shared hosts weren't so kind to provide).

I plan on staying with them for any sites that don't require a VPS or more.

Thanks everyone so far. Keep em coming. The php stuff being forced to run as cgi sounds kind of sketchy. Also a bummer on the RSS feeds. Reliablilty sounds OK as does the amount of resouces that they offer.
Anyone needed to use them for support when you've had a problem with your site?

Support was timely and helpful the time or two that I used it. As quick or quicker than any other I have used.

Support can only help with issues they can control or fix so all my problems weren't resolved as I mentioned in my first post.

I also have experienced no known downtime issues.

What type of sites and what scripts might you be using?

u can configure ur php in ur own style ass ur modules n stuff too

so i think that cgi problem can be solved by configuring ur own php
