    i didnt sent email from dreamhost account :-( i had a different account with another server....i sent email from there they are just saying that you spammed no specification nothing.....am really depressed

    i agree you might have not sent.. but here i am saying is that if mail services were miss used then they have no write to remove the webcontent without intimation or atleast give some time to move the domain else where... this is worst on part of customer services...

    Actually if you look in their TOS/AUP they have the right to do that. You agreed to it when you signed up and it has legal value.

    Still.. why didn't you have any back-up?

    Once the war is started you cannot expect 1 country to offer choclates to another!
    Just screw them up...Spread awareness about it,
    tell others how rudely they behaved with you, post screensnaps of the email/other logs on various hosting site forums, so dreamhost cannot sleep.

    I'm sorry to rub it in but you do get what you pay for. With sites that big I'm sure you're making enough money to pay for better hosting, dedicated that is.

    The only thing you can do now, since they don't respond to your emails, is phone them and apologise for using so much bandwidth. Then tell them you're problem and ask, nicely, if they would be so kind as to provide you with a FTP connection for the removal of the files.

    Email them to give you a backup as they are required by law to do that. If not, take legal action against them...

    That's the best i could do. I noticed they don't display a phone number anywhere on their site, very clever... just in case someone wants to phone and make a complaint.
    What you can do is from the address try to find out their phone number. Also the fax number is generally nearly the same as the phone number, who knows you might get lucky.

    yes, the 1.4TB mentioned on the sales page is deceptive and misleading all of our hard earned money.

    From what I think the 1.4TB bandwidth is for the entire server, so you all must know this type of web host that oversold their plan will always advertise deceptive information to get more sales.

    If their server have 1.4TB and they sold the packages to 100 or maybe 300 customers, then you calculate how much bandwidth you are getting now.....is only 4GB per user. this is rediculous enough for all of us that are in the beginning do not know what is all about this bandwidth and disk space scammed.

    I can tell you guys, girls, lady and gentleman, please wake up and avoid being scammed again by this type of web host, please look for genuine hosting provider that offer real disk space and bandwidth to keep your business going for long term.

    Here is what I can comments so far, not to be harsh to this web host but indeed the review is bad for them.

    As a hosting provider, I can tell you that when you break the host terms of service and that leads to account termination/suspension then you can't ask for a backup

    it's like. follow my rules and you will be served well

    you should have a local backup (at least weekly)

    btw, since you moved recently, I do believe you have a backup when you moved ? you can start from there - better than starting from scratch ;)


    anyways, this is what I was saying about overselling in this thread

    they promise you much resources but when you try to make use of those resources they make a reason to kick you out

    Is there a California law saying a host must give a backup to its customer?

    There's really nothing to stop you from suing them...except maybe the money
    and the time needed to handle it. However, no one can guarantee you'll win.

    Learn from this experience. But if you insist on trying to hold them liable based
    on what has been stated here so far, then good luck.

    well friends i cant even explain my condition
    im really in bad cindition i worked hard for 4 years and brought mt site upto this level and dream host have killed me in a min just for a stupid reason which i never did
    they saying that i sent email from their server but i never sent any email and they not even listining me i told them many times that i didnt sent any email from their server i have sent emails from my another server but they are not ready to listen anything they are just rude rude and rude
    i lost everything
    database , files , domain :((

    Do we need Dreamhost anyway when there are other choices?

    It's times like these that being polite can possibly do more than venting your
    anger towards the one you're doing (or did) business with. As much as doing
    the latter can maybe make you feel good, it's not going to motivate the one
    you're lashing out to even consider helping you.

    And of course, always have backups no matter what.

    nope dear my site are hug aand i dont have high speed so i cant take regular backup and above all my domain is with dreamhost only and they are not replying me....... :(
