Drawing With Word????? Is our teacher stupid?

That guy is like living in the 1st year of computers.

 

Most teachers are like that, they learn something and keep teaching it without realizing there are better things than that. They aren't up-do-date.

 

why would you use Word when a perfectly superior product exists in PAINT! hey, it's a drawing program!
By the same token, I don't use Excel to add, subtract, multiply, and divide...it's called Calculator...also a superior MS product

 

You will on occassion in the general workforce be employed on a job, where Adobe products are not available. Wouldn't it be nice if you could put something together with the software available, and not have to resort to obtaining graphic specific software. What's the big deal. The tools are more basic, but essentially similiar in usage. Why not just complete the exercise and stop bitching.

Can't do what? Draw a truck in Word? Using basic shapes even a third grader could put together one in Word.

 

Obviously you have never drawn in word. Go and try to draw soething jsut a bit more complicated then a box, and then you see the lines dont connect with each other because you cant put them exactly where you want to, or if you draw a curve, you can only continue on the way it was and cant change the curve in any way. It is a whole different expirience then and other graphic software. Just because it thinks that it can do things better then you like, it knows where to put the line and you supposedly don't I hate programs that do that. Those programs are built for idiots. Unlike photoshop where you can actually draw a line anywhere you want. Even in paint you can draw a line anywhere you want. So why coudnt microsoft make it that in word you could put a line anywhere you want, i dont know, but that really pisses me off. That is the biggest reason that i dont like teh assignment. And it isnt a real easy truck it has lines going everywhere with curves all around. So then because the lines do not connect it looks jsut like a bunch of lines that are unconnected, with little resemblence to a truck. Wow that took me a long time to write.

 

It depends what he's teaching you. If he's teaching Grade 8 IT then you shouldn't expect him to be pro at everything but if he's teaching University Graphic Design then you have a problem...

 

Ey, maybe you're teacher just enter a mistaken classroom... when he's supposedly in an art class... where buttons and bids become a mosaic... lol!

 

what bothers me the most about the whole; thing, not what program he choose to do the exercise but that he 'stumbled' by the OP's suggestion that they should use a real SW tool like Adobe.

He should have had a better reason why they were using word!

The funny thing is that I bet most Word users don't know there is a drawing tool in it!
