There is a lot of hype going around these days about Google adsense ads and increasing revenue from adsense. Online marketing videos like those by Michael Cheney is an example. There might be thousands more out there. Most of these 'tips and tricks' to increase revenue from adsense suggest ideas like adding images around the ad units to highlight them or draw attention to them. Here's what Google says in their Adsense Terms and Conditions at http://www.google.com/adsense/policies My point here is that aren't all these websites that use such techniques going against Googles terms and conditions?
What you have to consider is despite the fact they put that in the TOS they wish people click on ads because otherwise they dont make money. It's always nice for them to cover any means but if there isnt real problems everyone is fine.
I think it is a fine line, but the right sort and layout of images doesn't need to be deceptive or unnatural
dct is correct in my opinion It doesnt need to be deceptive or unnatural. Just dont do things like "Please click below to help fund this site" or fool the visitor in to thinking he is browsing around the site.
Several advices I had been getting: 1 Used images to draw attention to Adsense ads. 2 Blend them ... like a natural part of the web page 3 Change colors of the texts, URLs, etc (Adsense ad) and make the other links dull I am happy with (3) above, such: google_color_border = "FFFFFF"; google_color_bg = "FFFFFF"; google_color_link = "000080"; google_color_url = "999999"; google_color_text = "000000"; Ainuddin BestWebsites.com.my AdsenseForDummies.com
