Hi, I recently created a blog with the domain www.indiegamesource.com Shortly after, to my horror the site with the highest PR on indie games is actually www.tigsource.com, which means The Indie Game Source. I can't really compete with them, but I don't know if Google punishes you for "copying" someone else's site name. My SERP is pretty unstable right now (very new site), sometimes it will rank #2 for "indie game source" and sometimes it disappears from the listings at all (Right now I have no chance of getting into "indie game" rankings.) Before I add more articles, could someone tell me whether or not Google actually punishes you for having the same name as someone else?
Since the domain names are completely different, I don't see the problem. In a way, yours is better because it's a term people will actually search for, unlike TIG. I don't think Google cares about the name in this case. The other site just has other advantages, as it's been around longer and probably has lots of backlinks.
Google doesn't pay attention to your url keywords, just the age and when it expires... Just added original content and you will be king.
Will surely agree with you, Content is the King when it comes to preforming SEO. Try to post as unique content in google and for sure your website would be in the top of Google....
OK. What is better: 1. Really good quality content, revised many times by a professional english writer. (once a week) 2. Lots of low quality content, NO spelling/grammar mistakes, but spun and bought in bulk (for example flow is bad, etc) (twice a day) Thanks
