The urls on the Digital Point Forums can sometimes get way to long. And im a fan of url shorting services such as tinyurl.com, but figured i could make something myself and shorter than there current setup. So http://DPurl.com was born. Its built in Python using the Google App Engine and is hosted on Google's servers as well. Hopefully providing great stability and uptime and speed. The links it generates follow a base 36 pattern so there's room to expand. Overall DPurl.com cuts links in half. Very small, Very Clean. I also have built in shortcuts for Digital Point. You can jump directly to forum with http://DPurl.com/f.14 (replace 14 with the forum id you wish to jump to). Or quickly build a pm link such as http://DPurl.com/pm.63900 (Any user ID works) Same with threads, http://DPurl.com/t.######
No I didn't, although Im still going to work on it. Maybe they can make an exception. If not I still learned python out of the experience, and has no hosting fee's what so ever. Thanks Google
I was just reading my own thread and saw vikram_mavi's signature and noticed I didnt have a jump for post. So i just updated DPurl.com to work for posts by postID. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=7626174#post7626174 http://dpurl.com/p.7626174
