DPSpy Times Out During Install

Discussion in 'Products & Tools' started by David Bott, Nov 4, 2016.

    Greetings...

    Xenfono: 1.5.11 Add-On: digitalpoint_spy (Just downloaded)

When trying to install DP Spy into Xenfono it just times out when you click to start the install using the addon-dpSpy.xml file. I uploaded the directories as needed and then tried the XML and it just stops and does not go past the install/update screen and then times out.

So I then tried another of your add-ons to be sure it was not on my end. So I tried the Social Bar and that installed without issue.

So I went back to DPSpy and had the same result with it just timing out and not going past the initial install screen. (AKA...No rebuilds)

    Can you please advise.

Hmmm... during the install, the only real thing it does is create a table that it uses for the events. Can you check your database and see if the "dp_spy" table was created?

Hi...It was not. Just installed also Image Proxy, installed with no issue. Tried Spy again, same thing...just does not go past the start.

Are you getting any errors or anything in the XenForo server log?

Hmmm... honestly not sure where it could be hanging. If it's not even getting to the part that creates that table, I can't think of anything that would be going on before that.

What version of PHP and server operating system are you using? I wonder if PHP itself is crashing for some reason...

I did not see anywhere you can set permissions on who can use it. (IE...Group permissions.)

It's global... it's a "spy" after all. It's not usergroup based.

Yup, I get that now. Just used to running in and setting permissions. Would have used it as a feature of our paid club service. :)

But thank you for the add-on...it is quite nice.
