what do you people say if a trusted long timer or one or two mods start something like a DP ESCROW service "DP SAFE PAY". Just acting like a middle man for both the parties, with some set of rules for transaction. First money or any work always goes to this "DP SAFE PAY" service from both the parties and when they confirm they exchange. The service can use paypal moneybookers egold ..... or A real ESCROW if needed. we need: A trusted long timer on DP better any mods are involved. A set of rules. DP's own - paypal, egold, moneybookers, ... or escrow if needed. obviously some fees/charges mostly to avoid the transaction fee. i just read $100 $250 gone to scammers i don't know about others but for me its lot of money it makes me real frustrated to see this. so what do you people say, is it feasible ?
DigitalPoint isn't a bank, they won't do it. WAY too much work and crap involved. Just be careful and don't use paypal on large transactions.
DP was never intended for and will NOT ever be intended for being a marketplace. It's primary focus is webmasters. the fact that it has a marketplace does not mean that is the intentions of hosting the forum. shawn has been very clear on this in previous threads and discussions -- and I agree with him. even using the itrader is going out on a limb for us.
Well said.. specially avoid using PayPal on Large Transaction .. something I added n ma Siggy!! Well.. its turning out to be a Market Place. invaded by Scammers! I see a lot of activity in Buy/Sell/Trade!! Good Suggestion but cannot be implemented! Very hard to manage and trust people...! No matter what.. Scammers always find their loop holes in!!! :O
Interesting thought.... Wont ever happen i'm afraid, would take to much money and resources to start, only Billionaires do that sorta thing
It is a very nice concept and I hope it gets implemented someday to fight scammers but the amount of money and logistics to lift this off the ground would be a nightmare.
I think it's unnecessary. But i do reckon something should be done to combat the rise in scammers lately.
I dont think we need it. People will find it hard to accept and to digest the whole thing. Besides, Shawn is the one who needs to decide all this
it's your money, so it is your problem. what do you want? DP to pay for your stupidity? stupidity is not against DP's TOS maybe it's time it should be?
DP is not the only forum that is full of scammers. Warriors and many other forums are having the same issues. I do not think DP can be made responsible for neutralizing scammers... as others said, it is your money and it is your responsibility to think twice before giving them to someone.
I totally agree with you Sam... No one is going to pay you for your own stupidity. If you are smart enough then take care of your money yourself
