OK - I hope no one takes this the wrong way. This is NOT a criticism, but an inquiry for member input. The "Affiliate Programs" Forum is my favorite at DP. Each time I logon, which is usually 2-5 times a day depending on how much I'm at my computer, I always look at the number viewing. At peak times it may be in the high 20's, but there are always people viewing this forum Despite that many interested parties viewing during the day and evening, there seems to me, at least, there are not that many posts and replies? (Believe me, I have been guilty of this at times!) Do you agree/disagree? If you agree, say what you think may be the reason. If you disagree, say why you disagree. Vote in the Poll and then add your comment. Just something different........... Jim
I didn't mean to check off a "pulic poll", but I did, and I can't seem to edit it. Well, that's life. If you decide not to make your vote public, you can still reply by writing a post and hiding behind a screen name. Jim
Robots and guests can't reply. And about 40 threads have had replies today, counting da sub-categories. Doesn't look dead to me.
I never thought of the bots and guests....hmmmmm As far as the top 5 forums on networks, I was not referring to them. I was referring to this general affiliate forum area. Jim
Disclaimer - I am fairly new here and so this is my uneducated opinion. I think there are a couple of possible reasons : 1. There are so many people that applaud someone like Shoemoney for being so open and honest but yet, they, themselves, have no interest in sharing the knowledge or wealth they gain with others. The reason you see situations like you mentioned above is because there are so many people in this world that want to take but not interested in giving. These are the people that will always ask questions but have no interest in trying to help other people when they know the answer. They feel that some how that gets them "ahead" when in reality I have found the more I share, the more others want to share with me. and/or 2. The number of people with extensive knowledge on this subject pales, in comparison to the number of people looking to learn more. So there are many "newbs" looking but not contributing. I feel that I am/was in this category. I am not sure if either of these are accurate but I know that I fit into the second category for about 4 months before I started to try and give back some myself. Once I started trying to contribute I feel many more doors were opened to me that would not have been otherwise. Again, just my two cents.
No that pretty much sums it up. PPC to CPA arbitrage is a pretty competitive market. It takes a lot of work true but smart strategies are actually more important. Most that are good at it will tell you it's just hard work and research but that's not entirely true. If you put hard work into it and research your niche that will defintiely help but when it comes down to it, if you don't know what you're doing you'll just blow a lot of money on PPC and fail. With high stakes like that involved, scanning the affiliate forum for answers is a pretty big waste of time IMO.
I agree with your post Jim. I often visit the section but tend to just check out what offers are on, just on the lookout for new programs really. Whereas when I go to other sections I have more intent of contributing with advice or looking for my own advice. Just the nature of the section I guess.
I think my ratio of looking up a thread and posting is about 1 to 1, so I wouldn't have ANY idea what y'all are talking about
Jim, Since you are an affiliate kinda guy, here's a question for you. What is your conversion rate? 1%? 2%? Why so surprised that the look to post ratio is so low?
