Interesting idea, Robert.

Of course many scammers would want to get in as well, so it's important to have strict selection rules. People may verify their identity and address and that will already help a lot, but still won't provide protection from dishonest members who might want to abuse the system, like we've seen it done before in here many times.


I guess it could work out well if arranged and managed right, so good luck and keep it updated!

When someone is banned that means they broke the rules enough, Oh wait "broke the rules"

So how is someone that has BROKEN the rules so much that they GOT BANNED, going to decide if OTHERS are Trustworthy?

I think DP needs to decide WHO should classify any one " non trustworthy"

I think you need to be very careful. In a short time you have committed to following the rules of the "The Data Protection Act", in addition you have promised only one person will have the data. Then just a few posts later, you indicate that if Shawn asks, you will just give him all that info.

That sounds like a violation of the Act to me, although I just read it for the first time now - and do not claim to be versed on UK laws. However, I am worried about your apparent willingness to give the data to a third party after you collect it.

 

I can certainly vouch for that. I know some follow me around like a bad smell and cause nothing but trouble. I don't require to be in this association. I gather my business rep speaks for itself.

 

This is not a suggestion. Why has it been moved here and an infraction given?

Case in point: Remember this thread, and this post!! I wouldn't call a Drug Addict 'trustworthy'!!! Just yesterday he confessed to being drunk!!

Looks like a *hint* from Shawn!! Even if Shawn had OKd it, how would you manage doing something like this when you can't even handle driving in a storm that you created three years before you were born!!!

Sorry but don't count me in. Business that is conducted on DP stays on DP. That's the way it should be. Anyway we have iTrader and the REP system for a very good reason, start using them.

All he's going to do is maintain a list of people who appear to be 'good eggs' based on information already in the public domain. And anyone who appears on his public list will have asked to be there - no legal issues whatsoever that I can see.

Yes he has been banned in the past, but who hasn't? (apart from me obviously), but not for dishonesty that I can remember - you'll not find any 'scammed by Robert Allen threads' around here. He's been the victim of his own vivid imagination more than anything.

If you got an infraction for *wrongly* posting this thread in Suggestions & Feedback then you have been unlucky - unbeknown to you it was Shannon who moved it there from BST in the first place (I was online last night as she did it). My suspicion is that whichever mod is online this morning has seen it in S&F, thought "I don't like that" and then moved it to GC leaving you an infraction in the process.

 

So the drug taking, abusive, posts when drunk 17-year-old who appears to be delusional at times and has decided to appoint himself master of the "DP Trustworthy Members Association"?!!?? Get real!
