DP Spanish?

    Hi there...

    I was wondering what your views are on maybe having a section for other languages? Spanish would interest me.

    I have noticed there are several users here that are from spain, argentina etc.
    It could be a place where people who write/speak in spanish could communicate between each other regarding other posts made in English and might need help fully understading?

    I would be willing to help, I am British, have a Chilean mother and have been living in Chile for 9 years now, so I am bilingual, as a few other here i bet.

    Well let me know, I guess its up to the mods and site creators. I believe there is more to be gained than lost.

    My feeling is it would just be a complication. Moderators need to be able to read all posts.

    Thats fair enough, good point. But isnt there any Moderators that read spanish? or would you not consider signing up a couple of people that are bilingual to be mods? I dont think many mods would be needed to start off with. Just thinking it would be a good way to target more users and help more users.

    I think it would be too much of a hassle.. and we'd get some conflicts for choosing a language over another.

    Reading Spanish is not the issue. I can read most romance languages. Think of how many languages there are in the world.

    If we opened say a Spanish section then all other members who speak other languages than English would want one. This is an English forum and everyone here can speak at least some English, otherwise they wouldn't be here. :rolleyes:

    This is an english based forum .....so other sections would create other ads,

    Anyhow - no sense in beating a dead horse, It will never happen anyhow

    I think it would be way too complicated and if you lose the mod or mods that can read Spanish or if they are off awhile, you could have anything goes because the other mods would not know what was going on.

    Here is a thought though, if you think there is a market for it, why not start your own forum in Spanish similar to DP.
