Should DP start charging for listings in the Solicitations & Announcements section of the directory subforum. I think they should. All the traffic that it generates encourages spammers like this http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1604326
Solicitations needs a dedicated mod...and some rule adjustments to disallow these obvious spammers/scammers. Anyone that posts a directory built on a dropped domain should be banned. Anyone that posts those free .info directory networks (sometimes up to 100 sites) should be banned. Anyone that posts a directory using templates and not linking to the designer should be banned. It wouldn't take long to get this under control. If you notice, it's always the same handful of guys that are engaging in these less-than-ethical practices.
just another valued suggestion regarding the same problem!!! hope somebody out there is listening! M.
mods can't check each and every directory. I think the idea of charging webmasters is better. after all, posting in "Solicitations & Announcements" is like advertising a directory.
Hello... Yes im getting tired of chasing these ignorant scumbag pr*cks as well... (If DP can charge $1 dollar per post in S&A section then im sure most of the trash would leave) Every time i chase one many more come and do the same in trying to scam others by spamming ... collecting emails... Dropped domain ripoffs and any other little trick they can get away with.. By doing so i can assure you DP will make money from paid directory owners seeking to advertise thx M1
