DP is seen as a "trusted" site by Google, so I seriously doubt that a siggy link here is going to kill your SERPs.

I think so too. But, trust me it is not wise to obtain too many links too quickely. DP signatures can have some effct on that regard.

As for OP, he loves starting crap threads like this. Check the number of threads he started. You will know his purpose.

I once started a forum and a thread about the forum and the thread outranked my actual forum when I searched the domain. DP is oh so powerful :p

Exactly. I have seen several such comments in the past from various experienced members here.

Could be the sandbox kicking in or it could be to many anchor text links using the same phrase all at once, the newer your site is the more vunerable it could be to getting affected by some sort of Ranking Penalty.

Sorry but DP signature links do almost nothing, good or bad.

They do? Have you run tests on this despite the fact you don't even have a signature.

If you take a look at My Recent Bog, that was placed there on Wednesday 28th February. With 945 posts and some of these being on PR3 DP forum pages, you will see my blog page isn't even indexed.

Also if you Google the subdomain URL "isthisaboutrarara" it will return no results. If you Google the page title "Is this about rarara" also no results (i purposly chose this jibberish because there was no competition).

Another Google of my backlink anchor text "Virtual Memory Optimization" shows no mention of my page in the Google index.

I've also conducted similar SEO tests with signature URL's, in post URL's plus anchor experiments on both indexed and non-indexed domains.

I have been doing SEO for several years, and what i know doesn't come from an e-book but rather extensive testing... Even if it means sacrificing high PR domains, and doing things people wouldn't dream of like linking to several banned domains just to analyse the results.

People can believe whatever, but testing shows me DP backlinks are a very poor influence on Google or it's index.

A few other users tested this with a new domain, they had about 7k combined signature links and after a few months were not indexed.

If you really thought it was because of DP, why would you leave it in your sig?!

Is it true that links can never hurt you? Probably, though I was wondering if you get loads of links from some spammy banned sites will google associate you with those sites?
If so its a good way of taking out a competitor

    Please note that:
"No incoming link can HARM a website, only outgoing links can harm a website"

If it would not have been true, I would have thrown my competition out of the door any day.

    what I mean is :
i have 2 page about wang xuanjiebefore dp sig link. page A is in first page of serp.page B not found in first 10page. sig link made, page A gone. page B is in first page of serp. so I think google think page A is trash page (maybe it is spam filter )and let page B replace page A.
