    Well, the recv'ing mail server should record the IP it got it from. If DP sends me an email, my mail server logs the originating IP. That can't really be faked (easily) afaik. It looks like they used an open mail server on the DP network, so it appears to come from DP. DP's mail server should not have sent that mail, it should only accept mail from specific IPs.

    But that is just my theory.

    Also, if not disabled, it is possible to bruteforce probe a server for email addresses. VRFY being one way. And since it's just blink.digitalpoint.com, it could be anything, a mail server for someone else that they let them use. Who knows... maybe the entire thing is forged.
