I have had some problems getting on the forum, it is rare, last time it happened it was the DOS attack from the hackers.

What is going on this time, too much traffic load?

Anyone else having slowdown or log on problems this morning?

It started well before Shawn logged on, I wonder if he has some sort of alarm on the servers when this happens.

I hope the new servers will help when they are installed, seems like some of us are lost when DP is down even for a few minutes  :p :D

Well it is rare and with Shawn on the job it gets corrected quick also, I guess he can never leave his servers for long now with all the hackers and bots about.

It was not a hacker, bot, worm, DoS attack or anything else. It was just too many users using the keyword tracker at once and the database server couldn't keep up.

That would explain it. I wondered why I was getting so many timeouts.

Hey guys... where would be an appropriate place to appeal to everyone that has not yet donated anything towards the new server to make a donation? (I trust everyone on this post has of course already contributed something?) Every little bit will add up quickly and I'm sure we can all afford a small donation. Seems like there are hundreds of people using the tracker so whats $10.00 (or a bit more) ?

Are you running a standard MySQL Database for this?

MySQL, yes... "standard" no... It's turned for performance as it is.

My sites (hosted in the US) were down this afternoon. Wondered if it is was a problem at this end or the server end. Tried some UK sites - they worked. Tried DP - it was down. I decided all was therefore OK, that the wire between the UK and the US must have broken, and being an important wire they would probably fix it pretty soon.

Turns out my servers were in the middle of a DDoS attack. I thought that only happened to important sites. Maybe I'm considered important enough now. Hey, that's pretty cool.

    DP, what is up?

When I can't get online here I think that I am going to give up the internet

When are the new servers going to be up?

Man don't make me break out my bookmarks and look for other forums

Now we only need about $3,000! I'm donating again, not much but it's better than nothing! I think we all should donate, only $2,000 it's nothing... If we all donated $1 we would pass that mark!

Also, there are a lot of people making money from the co-op... Why don't they all donate? I've already donated!

I can't believe that the target has not yet been reached - the services Shawn provides, EVERYBODY using the Keyword Tracker and the Co-op (which I don't) should have by now, had the decency to contribute at least $10.00. That is just not even comparable to what they get for it. If you can afford to be online and use these services you can afford to contribute .......
    DO IT NOW!

Where on the forum would be the appropriate place for me to voice my indignation and urge more people to donate?

Well I am just wondering if Shawn would comment on the recent slowdowns a bit and if the new servers will prevent all downtime due to future traffic on DP.

Also why not serve the forum on it's own servers
