DP seems to be banning people like crazy

I post a response to a thread, come back a few hours later and of all the replies it has had, there is normally a banned member or 2 in there.
Which means that in the few hours I have been gone, at least 2 people who have responded to the post have been banned since my last visit.
That has to be a fairly large percentage.
Seems to be that the admin here just ban someone for farting.

I wonder will I get banned for posting this.

They get banned for doing something unjust, like scamming a person or selling warez. It's to protect the community..

 

Er, I run a forum man, I know the ratio.
The rate people are getting banned here is ridiculous.

 

Ratio's are not the same for every forum, DP being huge is heavily hit by scammers and spammers. They need to be strict

Not banned, but the same effect.

 

Digital Point has over 50,000 members. Not all of them are the fine, upstanding citizens that one would hope for. If even 1% were to get banned (and that is not an unrealistic number, is it?), that would be 500 banned.

 

Well, most are just temporarily banned unlike most forums.

 

They accidently put 2 infraction points on me for bumping, not double posting bumping! But I will tell them. I am on 9 infraction points till OCT 3!

Yup to protect the community but sometimes they go over board and give you an infraction just for bumping a little thread.

 

Must be a reason for the bannage , ive seen alot of idiots on here so far :S

 

Alot of people are not following the rules lately, all you got to do is follow the rules and you will never get banned.

 

er, it's actially extremely hard to get banned....unless you don't follow da rulez!!!

I've beged da mods and Shawn quite a few times to ban me!!!! And even though I drive every one insane, I've only been banned once...for less than 12 hours!!!!!!!!

Well people get banned for breaking the rules, so mods/admins has to do there best to keep everything clean...

i had few infrations for few bumps i made before , but thats fair since rules are same for all , though now all my points have turned 0.

its as simple as failing in exam without studies, so study rules properly here.

 

I thought so, too. But the current "member list" at http://forums.digitalpoint.com/memberlist.php is showing 53,821 member names.

 

many of this are duplicate accounts, so better do not assume to much.

i got an infraction for starting in the wrong thread, even though i didn't think it was the wrong thread since i wanted people who were familiar with wordpress to review my site not just anyone. But what can you do it happens, hey how many infractions before you get banned? should i be worried?
