DP Rules: Why No TinyURL?

    Hey Guys,

    I just realized I have been violating one the rules on DP for the past month or so. Sorry!

    Does anybody know why TinyURL and redirects are not allowed? I like to use them to protect the websites I am linking to from being caught by search engines since I do not want my blog or whatever I am linking to to show up and people find out that I got my content or design from here.

    Is this wrong?

    Does anyone have any alternatives?

    Because it can be used to mask Referral/affiliate Url's which are not allowed.

    Just because members using tinyurl to hide their aff.(referral) links which is not allowed here and we have no time to check each and every tinyurl :rolleyes:

    Use an image to show the URL so URL will not be indexed or provide in PM.
