Hi everyone, Have you noticed that members are not replying to the threads(in Content Section especially) enough and managing transactions through PM. This is majorly because of 7-day ban. I see a lot of members getting banned often. Once the ban is lifted they are acting smarter and not replying to the threads and instead managing the offers through PM. I see two broad areas where mods should think about: 1) If this trend follows the number of posts will decline on DP. Suggestion: Issue Warning to the users before warning! 2) For the person who is looking for service providers and is ready to pay, managing so many PM's becomes an issue. Its not that the job was not taken, its just that job was taken but very few are replying and thread creator is getting zillion messages.
that's the whole point: to discourage posts that are of no use to the forum in general. unless, it is an auction, no third user is interested in dealings of two members on the forum and thus it is best restricted to private communication.
Look my point is not that rules should not be imposed. The concern is declining posts in a section. Plus it becomes a deal only and only when the provider and benefitter select each other mutually. Which can only happen if they interact on the thread or PM. I see no problems in people interacting and negotiating on threads. However my concern is bold marked as above.
Again, that's the point. We don't want those posts in those sections, so them declining is a good thing. Anyone serious about doing business will manage their PM box just fine. They have the ability to back up old ones to clear room for the new whenever they want.
