DP members dont concentrate on giving Reputations for posts

Generally People in DP giving negative feedbacks for wrong posts.

But they dont give positive feedbacks for good posts..

And one more important thing is Many people dont know "What is Reputation? And Where it is in DP?"

I agree with you on this.

If people view that post is useless,they give -reputation but very few give
+reputation on good posts.

 

You only joined the forums this month and other members may not feel that any of your posts have been worthy of reputation points yet, maybe this is an indicator to make your posts more informative, longer, higher quality, etc.

Putting in those extra few minutes to ensure you've written an excellent thread or post may earn you reputation points.

You will notice many members of the forum have 11 green reputation blobs (the maximum) below their join date, location and post count in their threads and posts although these members have made thousands of posts and been a member for years.

You'll also find that a number of members will return the favor if you reward then with reputation for a good post

Continue to persist and you'll eventually get there Ganguly!

No...DP members are not like that. I guess you’ve misunderstood.

 

That's not certainly true. I am here for around 3 months. I haven't got any -ve reputation. But have received +Ve reputations from Moderators even :d

I agree, what is so good about reputation? If you make frequent excellent posts then people will see them and remember them and you will become a well known member.

Ditto, I haven't received -ve reputation for bad posts yet a lot of +ve for good pots (from mods as well)

I do agree with this. I have been working in the buy/sell forum for quite some time now and i have worked with a lot of people. But a very few leave itraders or even a feedback on the thread.

No one as yet even left me reputation points. Just one or two i think :/

 

Your tenure is too short to make judgments on other members....

Please spend some more time and have good interaction. I am sure you would receive equally good feedback with some well deserved pat on your back too!

Why i only see these types of posts from "new DP members".

I am not sure about now as i am not that active but if someone would have started this thread 1 year back,he would have got lot of red reps.

 

Your probably not going to get much reputation from the B/S/T section of the forums, your more likely to get them from other sections when you make a insightful and helpful post not when your buying or selling something.

To ensure iTrader is left for transactions that occur make sure you leave an iTrader and then if after a short time they still haven't provided an iTrader back you could send them a nice PM asking for them to (before you do though make sure that you know they will leave a +ve iTrader, you could be reminding someone to leave you a -ve iTrader if they weren't happy )

 

The Question arises- Why is it so that he would have got lots of redrep if it would have been the year before, and why not Today??

Just because starting these types of threads indirectly means "I make good posts and do not get reps,so please give me more reps".

Point i want to make is do not care about rep,if your posts are good,u will get lot of reps and and if u keep asking reps then u will definitely be raped.

 

Got a bunch of reps from replying to posts with relevant answers, so dont worry, it will come veentually.
You just cant have 2 rep greens with 39 posts, lol

 

The thing is rep isn't something that is just given out for an OK post, it isn't exchanged as often as the word hi and thanks. It takes a special post to earn rep which makes the system a good system as you need to work hard to earn it.

 

I guess the rest of us should keep our mouths shut then.
