DP members directory ! how this sounds to you ?

Hello,

I was thinking...would be possible to start a new directory project in wich many many DP members should contribute and then share the income ! This would be awesome.. In theory it sounds easy..the project could be very big...and when I say big... I mean BIG.

We could set polls to choose the most voted directory software,then we form a pretty big good team: editors,promoters,programmers,etc and then we split the tasks equaly.It is a lot to tell and discuss in here...but this could be something serious if the idea turns into reality.

What do you think about this ? for some it might sound strange, for some could be a challenge,for some could be just another boring thread.

Income sharing never works. It could work so nevery say never but in past experiencse someone always "leads" the project and others just tag along like a science project in grade school. .

You should start your own if you need help this place is filling with people waiting to give their opinion. (Cough like me.)

 

the project "leaders" could the editors who got kicked from DMOZ and complained in this forums...and those with experience who already have great directories

I think it's not possible since most of the directory owner of dp is dedicated to promote his/her own directory.

 

you could start a big directory and hire members as your editors and such, but sharing never works, as there is no way in saying how much work each person is puting into it.

 

those are the last people I would let be in charge of something.
