Well, I love DP and I would be a big help in the web design threads/business, etc. But the site is so slow when its loading! REALLY. There are a lot of ways to speed up the site. where the <head> Code (markup): is, there can be a major clean up! Here are my suggestions, every few bytes count! 1. Change the doctype Code (markup): to HTML5 doctype. Its a fact that you can change it without worry's! HTML5 Doctype: <!DOCTYPE html> Code (markup): Yes that is all it is! 2. Instead of the long meta, also change it to the shorter version, Yes just like the Doctype!. <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> Code (markup): To <meta charset="UTF-8" /> Code (markup): 3. theres a lot of white space in-between the meta tags in the head section, think about all the bytes that whitespace is taken up? At-least remove some lines! Each line is a lot of bytes! 4. PUT the Javascript scripts ON THE BOTTOM... right before the closing </body> Code (markup): tag. The page STOPS loading when it trys to render and load the JS [including jQuery]. There are a lot of other ways to clean up the code and speed up DP but these are what I see first, please admins just try it, atleast with a backup copy. What I listed will speed up DP then what it is now....
I'm not sure which is the peak hour for DP however I'm on DP almost 16 hours a day. What I experienced when my P2P client software is switched on and transferring data then DP becomes bit unresponsive and I think that because of P2P eats my ISP bandwidth. Does this happens to anyone?
No i'm not, i'm saying that, well DP takes 10+ seconds to load. [I used Firebug + Resources on Chrome to tell me this]. I have pretty good internet too & I live in the US. I'm not trying to tell the sysadmins what to do, but DP is slow for me though, and maybe for others too. So I looked under the site and see how there code is formatted. I saw ways that if the sysadmins at least try, the site would probably take 5 seconds faster to respond and load itself.
Come on guys, encryta just give a suggestion. First of all, he is just telling his feedback, and not arguing about everyone. Next, he took lot of time to find some good corrections in a forum. To say about slowness, i never feel slowtime in dp in internet explorer. But sometimes i get problem in firefox. Also encryta, bytes are not a problem for slowness of website. There are many factors for the slowness of the website.
Not slow for me however i do get random "Page Load Error" for no reason? Even when other sites load fine. -S
Do you having P2P (like Utorrent or bittorrent, limewire etc) running at the back? This happens to me usually with P2P running at back, I don't blame DP as my ISP bandwidth is low to handle multiple access.
Yes he is true. When any torrent clients running back in your system. It will take little more time to load. Please make sure that you are not running any torrent clients.
What I am saying is does anyone one gets "page loads error" or "server not found" while P2P is ON. DP doesn't seems to load at all.
