DP is a Gold Mine. (aka How My CTR Went Through the Roof)

I've been reading DP for the last week or so and have watched other's sites and how the implement their ads effectively. Well, the past week or so I've followed a lot of advice and my CTR has gone up incredibly.

    Before:

    After:

    The Three Changes I Made:

    1. "Un-blended" the links above the navigation to help utilize the F-Shaped Pattern for reading websites. Read about it here: http://useit.com/alertbox/reading_pattern.html This alone has had the biggest increase above all things and I recommend trying something like this.

    2. Blended the links on the left hand side. The results weren't as great but my CTR soared for over double what it was.

    3. Added the half banner in the center of the website. I wish I could discuss numbers, but you won't believe the CTR percentage this banner is getting.

Sunday is normally the slowest day for visitors to my website, and I've already seen earnings above any day this past week. I hope to set my record amount on either Monday or Tuesday.

I'd like to extend a thank you to everyone here at DP. You guys are amazing.

I average about 2000 unique visitors per day, and between 10,000-15,000 page views.

It was posted above. Around 2K uniques daily with 10-15K pageviews. The weekends are really slow for me, seeing as I run a job website, but during the week I normally triple in traffic. This has been one of the higest paying days for me ever, so I'm wondering if my earnings will triple tomorrow as well.

Can you please provide some of your tips on getting this much traffic through on a new site? Im guessing you already have some established sites...

    Thanks!

This is my first real adsense earner. I think before this site I made $20 in 3 months with 3 different sites.

I have an excellent means of advertising, but the site has grown so much just by word-of-mouth advertising. Nearly half of my referrers are from a web based email client.

Dang Manthem - it took me months to get where you are.. you say you have an excellent means of advertising - does that mean you're paying for advertising in additon to your word-of-mouth?
PS - the DP forums (and that 'other' webmaster forum) are the best places for learning - particularly for newer webmasters..

    I've spent a total of
$20 to buy the domain and privatize my information.
    $0 on advertising.
    $0 on development.

So everything there is purely profit.

As for my revenuing doubling, I've applied most of the changes yesterday and this is by far the most amount of money I've made on a Sunday which is my slowest day of the week. I may have jumped the gun saying everything I've made has been doubled, but I expect big results tomorrow. The fluctuations in numbers also has to do with Google displaying the wrong ads, for a couple days I've had ads targeted for USB drives and Overstock.com. Not exactly my target. But that's all fixed now.

And <3 DP. I'm just mad I haven't found this site earlier.
