With our 301 system, the redirections are in place as soon as you install (which takes about 5 minutes).

Likewise, all internal anchor text for posted links improves immediately and the linkback system starts doing its job in real-time. :)

It's easier to see everything that changes in the demo, and to get a sense of what to expect in our customer reviews forum.

Just because something works, doesn't mean it can't be better. Obviously you don't have to have a site SEO'd to rank well, though it certainly wouldn't hurt either. I think vBSEO would help (I use it on 3 sites btw), though it's not a necessity everyone needs.

I'm a vBSEO customer also. It's one of the main reasons that I switched from phpBB to vBulletin. :)

I remember that. 50 spiders for every human visitor at one point, according to Brett Tabke. I wonder what level of spider problems DP gets?

We help with bandwidth conservation also. We have a feature to strip unnecessary comment tags before sending back to the user.

But the huge savings comes into play when you consider how many noise/duplicate content pages are blocked from crawling, after conversion to the CRU (Content Relevant URL) format.

This conversation (really) can end here, because the URLs for this forum will never "appear" static. They aren't static and there's reasons for not wanting them to appear as something they aren't. I also have no desire for the URLs to be keyword stuffed (makes them look ugly and unprofessional in my opinion). Thirdly, if I *was* going to go that route (which I'm not), I certainly wouldn't use vBSEO, I would code it myself. *Maybe* if it wasn't compiled and you could see the code (so I could go through it to make sure there aren't any "issues"), but secret/compiled code that I didn't write isn't going anywhere on my servers if someone paid me. :)

geese more talk about the "hidden" code..lol
I bet some would be amazed at the -h hidden files on your OS :D

it's obvious that the owner here doesn't want to change the url's

but I don't see why they are "ugly" if they are shorter ..lol

oh well, each to his own ;)
