DP competition?

I love this place. I have learned more than i thought imaginable about seo in a few months. I was wondering if people would be interested in an SEO competion? I remember there was a thread trying to start one earlier and I don´t know what happened. I work at a video game site where people play video games for a living and we are about to launch the public site. I was wondering if seo pros here would like to compete and see who could get up their PR the fastest on new .info sites. If we do it, I guess we would have to figure out the metrics. We would provide the .info sites (and own them after). Also, the sites would be linked back to the main site and we could do some insane rev share (our current rates are somewhere between 20-40% depending on how big you are, for a limited time competition we could go higher). Let me know what you guys think.

If this is a bad idea there is no need to flame me about it and we won´t do it. I am just trying to find ways to interact more deeply with a community that has taught me alot.

hmmm, I don't think, you owning the doamins afterwards is a good idea, and rev share isn't that great of a reward.

So first off we work to get some site ranked higher (which you get to keep)

Then as a prize you expect us to do more work without upfront payment.

It'd be fun and I might consider it if you improved upon these points, also depends what kind of search terms the competition would be on and how long the competition lasts.

I agree with T Media. I would not be interested in participating in a competition to begin with because I don't really have the time. However, if I were interested in participating, I wouldn't do it because it would *appear* that your offer is based on your need for SEO for these new .info sites...and not a geniune interest in sharing information and a cool SEO experience with your fellow DP members. I say 'appear' so as not to accuse you of that very thing. It just seems it could be your intention.

I agree with the above comments. I don't see anyone being interested in a seo competition in which you keep the websites. It is interesting that you claim to love this place and have learned a lot here, yet you only have 18 posts. I too think that you are just trying to get extremely cheap seo work done, work that is probably your responsibility to get done. You were dreaming if you thought you could setup a competition to see who could do your work the best. Nice try though.
