DP Bum Marketing Challenge

What do you guys think of a small bum marketing challenge for DP Clickbank affiliates? The purpose of the challenge is basically to have fun and to help motivate us to work harder.

Since promotion via ezinearticles.com and other article directories won't be allowed, I guess it'll also be a bit of an SEO challenge.

    How will it work?

First thing we need to do is:
    1) Find an underexposed product that has little to no competition at present.
    2) Determine if it's profitable

How can people enter the challenge?

Once we've decided on a product, we can have people enter the challenge by providing their name and the domain (or squidoo page, blogspot page, etc.) they're going to use to promote the product.

    How is the winner determined?

Hmm.. I'm not sure on this one. I guess there will probably be two winners:
    1) The person who has made the most sales
    2) The person who has the most #1 positions in SERPS for related keywords.

There is no prize, I guess - It's just for fun :D

    Rules:

    1) Domain must be recently registered.
    2) Promotion via ezinearticles.com and other article directories not allowed
    3) PPC (adwords, etc.) not allowed

    Yay or nay?

Anyone like this idea? I think it'll be heaps fun if we can get a decent amount of people to enter and help out with ideas for products to promote, etc.

Many SEO's utilize ezinearticles and article distribution so it's part of their overall system for SEO, why do you not want to use it?

I guess if a few people got in on it there would be a ton of articles on ezinearticles on the one product and one very happy vendor :D

You would have to say no to PPC either as that favor those who have more money to spare.

    Could be fun I guess....

    I stand stupid and corrected.

So it's just SEO? Race to "product + review" !

I just thought it'd look better if people's actual domains/websites were ranking in the SERPS, rather than a crapload of ezinearticles. I guess it's possible to outrank the articles, but still.. I just think things would look cleaner/better/more organized? without the crapload of ezinearticles (or any other article directory sites for that matter) in the SERPS.

Also, with ezinearticles.com and other article directories not being allowed, I guess it'll make things more challenging, which is what we want.. right? :D

Yep, it's just pretty much pure bum marketing - no PPC involved.

Promoting some obscure thing like The Vertical Project (theverti1) would be interesting... $100 payout, and it'd be interesting to sell as well, even though I'm not joining.

I need to establish some consistent income, before I can mess around..

Hmm, I always thought there were more approaches to bum marketing, other than submitting articles. I'm sure there are many other methods of promotion that could also come under the term "bum marketing".

I love bum marketing. :) Go around on main roads, steal good signs, latex, spray paint domain and stuff. BAM you got traffic.
Although not 100% bum marketing , its pretty freaking close to it.

No ezines,no ppc,it will not be easy to promote anything without those 2.So better select a product and set some time frame, the guy making max no of sales in that time frame will be winner.
