DP auto-logout after 2.347 minutes! Serious Problem

Digital Point logs me out after 2.347 minutes.

I timed it with my "web forum inactivity tool". I paid lots of money for this script and I know it works!

Maybe you do not love Firefox or something...

Anyway many other forums do not time me out in such a short time. SP and WMW time me out after an average of 38.7 minutes. And they love my browser... Seriously what is up with the short inactivity frequency??

    :)

It reduces server usage or lag perhaps :)

I know if after a few minutes of me logging in I leave the forum and come back I have to login again although this doesn't happen on other forums for me.

Did you select the "remember me" box when you logged in?

I have session based cookies enabled. Just not one that writes to my hard disk.

My cookie is saved, but just not for anything longer than a 2.347 minutes! :)

This is really strange for DP. All other boards are ok with my settings.

    Oh well...

Try using another browser. My IE7 went totally bananas the other night and just won't work. I downloaded FoxFire and have had to log in every time I open browser. I feel sure I need to adjust my options with FF but have yet to do so.

If you idle for more than 15 minutes, and you don't stay logged in, it will log you out.

I guess 15 minutes is too short of a timeframe.

Why would it be 15 minutes? Even my bank gives me 30 minutes. While I think DP is important, we are not protecting any sensitive information here are we?

My suggestion/request is that you consider upping the timeframe to 1 or more hours. Or convince my bank that their security is too lax in giving us 30 minutes... :)

Use the option to stay logged in. Then you can just use the Logout link to log out.
