DP and SitePoint Alexa graph very much alike.

I was checking out Alexa and a few sites rankings,

I compared DP with Sitepoint and the graph came up very much alike, the only difference was that DP has a higher rank, besides that the graph pattern is almost the same. Why do you think this might be?

    take a look.

As both are webmasters forums, so one visiting DP will also be visitng SP :)

SitePoint is more like a ... developers forum, not so much a webmasters forum.
    Even though I'm a developer, and not really a webmaster at all;
    Digital Point > SitePoint :)

    That's amazing.

The numbers will probably crept closer together now that some DP people will find out about SP because of this thread :D

That is amazingly close lol. As they have similar niches I would think they would have similar stats, but I mean this close, I wouldn't think that. Pretty neat

Not sure why your graph looks different than mine (looks like alexa updated how graphs look now,in terms of colors). But compared DP SP ,WHT And wickedfire with my punny site for sake of fun,but looks like my site and wickedfire almost neck to neck :D

Interesting... It should not be so similar.

I guess they share same set of samples (individuals). The difference is that some of the individuals in that set visit DP but not SP.

Its amazing, look at the ups and downs of both graphs they rise and fall at almost same time and same level. Wondering how it could be possible.

When you are talking that much traffic volume the shifts are mainly due to online movements

I've seen that graph before a few months ago, obviously the thread has continued - can't think / haven't seen a good reason for it yet.

I knew about SP long before DP came to my attention, and I am not too fond of SP,
so this thread won't probably help my decision anyway :)

I might sound completely noobie here but what is the difference between a webmaster and a developer?

For eg, a webmaster of a website running on PHP need not know PHP.
But a PHP-Developer must know PHP.

I don't know if i was clear. But that's my answer.
