Paypal already has an instant download ability built-in! You don't need an external script.

    Login to PayPal

    Go to : Merchant Services

    Select: Buy Now Button

    In Step 3, you'll see:

"Take customer to a specific page (URL) after successful checkout"

Enter the address of your download page

Then after the transaction is complete and they click the Return To Merchant button, they will be sent to the download page (or any URL you specify).

Whether you use the link method or buy now button payment method, PayPal has a "successful checkout" field. Use it. That way, your customer gets access immediately without waiting.

Just make sure your customer support info (email, contact info) is up to date in your profile, so they can contact you if something goes wrong.

Okay, that's embarassing! I've done that BuyNow Button a dozen times and never noticed that that is there! Thx for the tip. I will definitely check that out.

But my question is this: how do I make it secure. Do I just put the download path in a folder and then keep changing the folder daily? Or is there some better way?

I have another ignorant question for everyone:

If I go with Clickbank and make this page my sales page, then I can't use Pay Pal anything, right? Clickbank would handle everything start to finish from what I understand, correct?

hey Whisper9999 i can tell you a better way using your own site

example you have webite superduper what ever tdl it is when you set up your paypal button the 3rd step is advanced setting to customise what happens after the payment is made Take customer to a specific page (URL) after successful checkout: in this filed you put the url of where you uploaded the file

    example http:// blah blah blah . ebook.zip

just put the ebook in main directory the buyer wont know the url just will get redirect and the save or open of windows download willl open.

i thought everyone who is webmaster would know this its common sense and i have used or is it just me lol

hope that helps forgot middle man or woman your site can do it all using paypal without any script

merry xmas and happy new year

It sounds good - thx for the description. I understood everything except I hadn't noticed that 3rd step in PayPal. My only additional comment is that I'm not sure I would put in the main directory - that just seems too public to me...
