I'm selling an eBook on my site using PayPal. I then receive an email from PayPal if I reeive a payment and then I actually email out the eBook.

I would rather go to a download system, where the person pays on PayPal and then I or someone sends them a download location. However, I don't really know how it usually works. I know that I could just provide a link for them that is in a subfolder with an obscure naming convention. Then after a day or two, I would/should change the path.

Is this the best way to do it? Or is there some more secure and/or automated way? Sorry to be so ignorant...

I know there is an automated way wherein you upload the file to something like a middleman service website then when he pays you, the payment will go directly to your Paypal and a download link will be sent to them.

    IIRC, it's called Payloadz.

Thx for the idea, but I don't really need a full-fledged shopping cart. As it stands, I've only got one item to sell right now.

I tried that. I've never seen so much unrelated, useless information. That's why I was hoping someone knew a decent method off the top of their head...

I think Payloadz is similar to clickbank. I can always go that route of course, but I was looking for something fast and easy and right now...

I just did it myself. When an IPN comes through, this triggers creating a unique file for download.

That's called PayPal instant downloads and then can be implemented using PayPal IPN script.

That doesn't answer the question being asked. Seems like you are just spouting fanboi rhetoric

This will not solve the problem of the OT. Besides, Goolge is vast and you will definitely gt countless and useless results if your keywords used is not correct.

I've been looking for the script. Do you have any ideas where I can find it?

Why? PayPal seems really solid to me. They have great customer service, esp. for a guy in my situation.
