The mind boggles as to what that advertiser was really trying to target... that or it's pure arbitrage.
lol sarah. It seems like one of those nigerian scams. I give you wedding dress, you lend your husband for a night
Ok - here's my deduction as to what has happened here - they intended to target fans of old indie rock group "The Wedding Present" (who do feature on the site), and put it to broad match voila- nonsense ad.
They bought the term Wedding Dress which is a song by Derek Webb. No arbitrage here- they copied a long list of song titles without thinking about the dual meaning they may have. A guaranteed way to get slapped by google for irrelevancy (and low CTR). I wonder if they bought the keyword yesterday as well...
You're right - it's more likely to be the song than the band that they're targeting. Though I don't think RealNetworks are too bothered about google slapping, or wasting a few advertising pennies, their net income last year was in excess of $142 million
dont take it too seriously we were just kidding. If you dont know "Wedding Dress" song then it looks funny. Downloading a wedding dress
Yes, it is more likely that they are targeting to "wedding dress" song. But I think they should bid "wedding dress song" instead of "wedding dress". The keyword "wedding dress" is a big search term. Even $0.1 bid could end up in thousands of dollars a month. Adding several negative keywords such "cake" "invitation" "photo" could trigger more relevant impressions.
