Hello, I searched for an answer for my question, I did not find... so I ask here. If I want to create a site, for example a download site, or any other kind of site, can I receive money without having problems ? I'm talking about money from Google Adwords, for example... or from affiliateing with some authors. Secondly, can I receive money safely if I create an application and I sell it online? I don't want copyright or to build a company... i just want some extra-money for my hollidays Please help. I just found this forum... honestly it is the greatest in this domain... I'm sorry I didn't hear of it earlier
Zimona, There are no problems with starting a download site per se as long as you are providing access to shareware type programs. In fact many shareware authors provide you with the information you need to list these types of programs on your site in the form of PAD files which are basically XML files with all pertinate data. As far as collecting money, there are several affiliate programs out there you can join including RegNow and Share-It! which give you commissions on sales of shareware programs in which you refer and adsense has no problems with you placing their ads on these types of sites as long as it isn't a warez type site.
If you are allowing shareware/freeware downloads, you can run a site without any problems. I assume you meant google adsense here, this wont make a problem for you and your domain. You can make any applications on your site, make a good software and you will find sellers coming to you automatically boosting your profits.
thanks for the quick response. i knew all what you answered me, because I studied the problem my question was ANOTHER: the money I get from a shareware site and/or creating and selling my own applications must be declared? must I start a company or I can just receive the money and go on holiday ?
Not sure where you are located, but in the US you don't need to start a company but yes you do need to declare any income and pay taxes on it unless you wish to have the IRS breathing down your back when they discover that you have undeclared income.
I am located in Romania, and I hope the laws are them same... I will start this and declare the income at the end of the year (16% in Romania), but what should I declare... what are the money, author rights (for my software) and ????? (for Adsense) ? Not sure about all countries but usually income tax only come into the picture when you start earning above a certain amount. If you are just starting out there should be no problem, but laws are different for different countries.
